Disaster Planning Services

PCI has assisted medical facilities in planning for radiation accidents for over 20 years.  Medical facilities must be able to respond to a radiation accident, and since 9/11, a possible radiological terrorist event.  PCI experts assist hospitals in creating a comprehensive plan to organize workers into an effective team that can assess radiation damage to the public.  In addition, PCI physicists train personnel in decontamination techniques, including isolation of radioactive contaminants.  We have learned that even the best plan will be ineffective if not combined with “real world” testing so we organize drills and practice sessions as part of our overall program.
