Magnetic Resonance Testing (MRI)

All facilities applying for ACR accreditation must maintain a documented Quality Control Program.  The ongoing QC program assesses relative changes in system performance.   Weekly QC testing should be conducted by a qualified technologist and reviewed on at least an annual basis by a  qualified medical physicist / MR scientist.  The medical physicist/MR scientist is also responsible for specific annual QC tests as indicated in the "ACR MRI Quality Control Manual".  PCI physicists meet the qualifications to oversee any facility's MRI QC program.
